Our history
The birth of a financial revolution
In the early 1980s, Fraser Smith observed something troubling:
The wealthiest Canadians were making their mortgages tax-deductible through complex strategies requiring expensive accountants, while everyday Canadians struggled with non-deductible debt.
Determined to level the playing field, Fraser developed The Smith Manoeuvre™—to finally allow ordinary homeowners to convert their mortgage into tax-deductible investment debt.
In 2002, Fraser published his groundbreaking book, making this powerful strategy accessible to all Canadians.
Expanding the vision
Fraser's son, Robinson, took up the mantle in 2006, bringing international business experience and a passion for his father's mission to the table.
Under Robinson's leadership, thousands of Canadian families implemented The Smith Manoeuvre™ and his book, "Master Your Mortgage for Financial Freedom," helped bring his father's work to a new generation.
The strategy gained further momentum when Ryan La Haye and André Cyr adapted the strategy for French Canadians, translating both the concepts and materials to ensure accessibility across the country.

With expertise in economics and international business, Robinson has personally advised hundreds of families on implementing this wealth-building strategy, continuing his father's legacy of helping Canadians achieve financial freedom through strategic mortgage optimization.
